It would be fun, she said.
And it was!
First spin out for eons with Peli, various reason have delayed this joy. We got about 25min into our pootle and then the sky opened up, roads turned into rivers in less than a few minutes. Glad it was a summer storm so we were just wet and not cold.
Sadly...
A quick spin out before the light got too dark, that is why the quality of the video ain't the best. Great fun, rough some of the old Roman Road was a bit too rough for a 20" front wheel.

I got some new tyres for the Azub Six, Continental Double Fighter III. They feel a bit more bouncy compared to the Schwalbe Racer's that I have been using. But they got a better grip on gravel and I can't feel a lack of rolling speed either.
I was clicking around on Strava and found a bit of bridl...
Do they count as protein or carbs?
It was hard getting out the door today and the first few miles had good options to turn back early. Lucky I kept going and ended up past the point of no return and it would be rude to turn back.
Nearly 27 miles to Ilkley and up and over the moor, which did go...
Well this ride never got to a smooth one, I had to stop for horses, put my lungs back into their rightful place, cars, check if I had a flat, oh and a sneaky pint.
Clearly shown here that stopping for beer - beer is good for you - helps with my PRs. Got one on...
Hmmm, winter legs still there, but then again what do you expect, since I have only done two rides since sometime last year, so I had to stop twice on a hill I have never stopped more than once before and that was when I was still sick.
But still managed to get a PB \o/

I was flagged down by a farmer who asked if I had seen any sheep on the road, which I haven't. Is that normal in Yorkshire not to see sheep? :)
I was sure I would stall on Cote de Barden Moore, since I haven't done any riding for nearly 10 months. But I managed to get to the top and then had a res...
Well that shook some cobwebs off the old bike. 12 and a bit wonderful miles, though thick fingers deleted the track. So only proof is the above image.
Had a wee stop in a brewery, but sadly the first place was closed so I had to visit another one :)

Had the great honour to go for a ride with Windy. He took me down to the "lake district" aka South Locks for a little spin.
Great natter and catching up and brilliant riding company on some stunning roads with event better views.
What a day, just a little pootle out to "Cote de" Barden Moor, to see Tour of Yorkshire come past. What an atmosphere, happy people, brilliant race and the SUN! Zoomed back home to watch them race into Leeds. Thank yo Yorkshire, riders and organizers. See you next year!

I had to make sure that our friend didn't get lost and missed Betty's Tea Room in Ilkley as she departed for York.
We also managed to try out a bit of road that I had seen, but wasn't sure if it was connected to where we needed to go. Good news is that this cuts out a big roundabout and makes life...
Over the last 6-8 month every time there was time for a ride - life, crap weather and some lazy got in the way.
So today all the stars and the house of fry-up was aligned to be a day of riding. Went to the garage to check over the van with the plan to get a ride in while the mechanic did his work....
Forgot to upload this one. Just a quick spin out, up to Pinhaw and back.

Quick ride out and back between the showers, just because. Got more wet trying to keep up with Peli on the hills that from the rain. She pulled me up the hills to three PR's. One I'm now nearly five minutes faster than the first time I went up it.

Went out for a little pootle and a spot of shopping before watching Tour De France. Sadly I got delayed, because the sun hit the benches outside the pub as I cycled past, so it would be rude not to.

Went out to test me legs and managed the longest ride since 2012 with 45.5 miles and 2900 feet climbing AND five PB on the last bit of the ride (how the feck did that happen?) Jolly ride out and about out via Airton, Settle and Wham before having a pint in Wigglesworth, Halton West, Bank Newton befo...
Followed an old ride today, which I haven't done since '13. Stunning country side, bridle ways and country lanes. Some parts where rather hard to ride as it was sill damp from the rain last week and the worst of the bridleways were always on the hills and rather stony. So I pushed some bits but that...
Went out to check a new route, I knew bits of it would be off-road for about 2 miles. I was prepared to walk/push some of that, but managed most of it. I think I only walked about 50-75 metres. Only time I walked was when I hit a ford with a gate next to it and when joining the bridle coming out fro...
Drove the van out to try another start point for a ride. Sadly it would be cut short at the roads were being resurfaced. But still made one fantastic and fun ride with Peli. Need to do it again so that we can visit the Cake stop in Halton Gill.
Meet up with Windy and enjoyed a fantastic ride with him on one of his regular club ride. Which took us past wind mills, to a pub (you gotta hydrate), past the castle and stunning views. Thanks Windy for a brilliant ride!
A loop out to Reef and back, weather was spot on and I was spoiled with stunning views. Last time it was a bit grey but this time blue skies.

Stunning evening and I set out to do a longer loop. But riding up the first hill quickly showed me that dinner was rather yummy and I indulged a bit too much. So turned off the planned route and went exploring. Found this stunning beach and had a dip while enjoying the sunset.
First ride back on Lewis, right into the wind going out but a fantasic ride back with the wind pushing me along. Stunning bit of the world and added bonus new tarmac on so parts of the route. Best of all I beat Windy on Strava on one or two segments \o/

Set out into the wind over to Bolton Abbey to watch the lads in the Tour de Yorkshire pass. The plan was to have a spot of cake after, but the queue talked Peli into a race.
As in a race back to Skipton to see them come down the high street. I had read we had about 30-40 min to do it in.
