Pootles short write ups about short rides

First ride back on Lewis, right into the wind going out but a fantasic ride back with the wind pushing me along. Stunning bit of the world and added bonus new tarmac on so parts of the route. Best of all I beat Windy on Strava on one or two segments \o/

Set out to have a banana in Ilkey and explore the lanes. Sadly, just after I overtook Otley Cycling Club*, I suffered defeat and had a visit. Lucky it was only 20 meters from where I was planning to have said banana. Jolly good ride longest and most climbed since Dec 2012, also the first ride where...

Again a splendid ride out with Peli. I got to meet our new friend Owen, glad that I'm not going to see more of him though.

Cycling away from the ever so wonderful Cafe in Burnsall, Wharfe View Tea Room, I could hear Peli behind me.

"I can't keep up, because I...

A quick little spin out before the rain. Spotted some swans cooking cygnets, looks like seven, maybe even eight, little ones due, when it goes ping. A Heron and some ducklings and tonnes of flies were spotted too.

The problem with modern technology is that they need extra bits that you are not used to at first to remember to bring. We set out to meet Peli's mum for a wee spin on her lecky-bike. Meet up in Embsay where she had parked up and was ready to go. Sadly while getting her bike ready we noticed that he...

20 odd miles on the lanes with the ever so wonderful Peli, it always put a smile on me and is jolly good fun too. Finished off with a big hill, well just because :)

Picking up Peli from work and her train home, to test out if she could add a bit of biking to it. The first bit was at peak commuting time and a bottle neck. So some memories of cycling in that there London. We both got rather used to the quiet road outside rush hours. Other than that it was jolly g...

Peli said follow your nose when I asked here where to go on my bike ride, so I did.

Yesterdays walkabout in that there London make today's ride a short one. I was planning to do a longer loop, but as I set off out of town I knew me legs didn't have it. But I managed to clock 10 miles, which all helps towards this years target. Sorry only one photo today.

First ride outside on my new bike. No pain what so ever in my arms and hands, which makes this the first ride on a bike in over three years that didn't hurt - as in utterly painful/agony/aw!

I took Tigger, as he is named, down to the flat bit at the bottom of the hill. After two wobbling starts, n...
