We set out to walk up to see Simon and see how comfy his seat is. Heard the views are grand, but not so soft, from it.
Parked up in Skyeholme and walked across the fields to Howgill. Where we found out that Barden Fell and Simon’s Seat is closed to dogs. Same goes for Barden Moor, but it is OK to walk dog on the bridleways as long the mutt is on a lead.
Both Barden Moor and Fell are grouse shooting areas. I have been riding my bike and walked Tilley on Barden Moor’s bridleways and I have never seen so many grouses and other birds on open land.
I understand the reason, I just hoped that we were allowed to walk up to tops on the paths with Tilley.
