Cycling along the Somerset Levels we had to endure a rather steep hill before we came to this campsite. So finding a little shop that sells every thing and the rather important cycling food, ice cream, was a god send. Bowdens Crest have a little cafe and bar that serves plenty of food, even a Sunday roast, which you can eat while looking over the Somerset Levels. There is a play room, with pool tables, free wifi and laundry room.
This camping and caravan park is right up to scratch with other sites from the club. But since cyclist are welcome the price for one night stay wasn’t too expensive as other club sites can be. The only expense we endured was the ice cream and the chips we had with our dinner.
The only down side was the dog kennel next door, which at feeding time was a bit noisy, lucky they kept quiet doing the night.

Sadly none of the pitches have “a room with a view” over the Somerset Levels but hey you can have a bath.
June 2012 will be our 3rd visit back to Bowdens Crest.
The site is well maintained with a friendly atmosphere.
Ken the owner is a nice man who loves a good chat. The pitches are large but be warned the ground is hard you will need sturdy tent pegs which can be purchsed from the sites shop.
The toilet blocks are modern and kept clean with good showers we have never had to que to use them.
The restaurant serves lovely food which price wise is very reasonable and the Bar is also quite cheap.
I would give this site a 9 out of 10 rating.
